Does the L1T and L2T share the same driver? If so, would a 14500 li-ion work in the L1T to boost output??

The older Luxeon III version or the V2.0?

The older Luxeon III version(L1T and L2T) had the same circuit and I think the newer ones have the same circuit too(L1T V2.0 and L2T v2.0).

But I'm not sure.

I have been wondering the same thing, Buck91. I got a L1T v2.0 for my mom and I really like it on NiMh. If it will run safely on a 14500, it could be phenomenal!

Max Vin is 4.0v.

With 4.2v(14500) low will not be low however.

This has been discussed before, but I dont remember where the threads are.I guess its up to you to assess the risk.

I've run my L1T (v 2.0) on a 14500 for brief periods of time -- keeps both levels with each level being higher than when on Ni-Mh.

Seems to get rather warm on high (with 14500) though . . .

I'm talking V 2.0 Q2... Will do some searching as well, to see what comes up!

I've used 3.2v rcr123a cells in my L123T for an age with no problems. I've seen LiFePO 14500 cells online for reasonable amounts, but they also need a charger designed for them. Worthwhile if you want to preserve the levels.
