Hi, I borrowed a Minolta T-1 Illuminance meter from work and thought I'd update the measurements I've been trying to make with a photographic light meter.

Lambda Illuminator
Center Beam Candlepower (CBCP) 200 cd
5 degrees off axis 70 cd
750 mA current draw
(2 AA)

Inova X5
Center Beam Candlepower (CBCP) 70 cd
5 degrees off axis 40 cd
270 mA current draw
(2 123A)

Arc LE
Center Beam Candlepower (CBCP) 28 cd
5 degrees off axis 16 cd
122 mA current draw
(1 AAA)

There may still be inaccuracies in this, but I think these are the closest measurements I can come to a serious test bench.

Your mileage may vary.

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks for the measurements. I see you had some measurements of other lights in other forums. It would be nice to have all of the measurements in one place somewhere. It helps to judge the brightness of lights I don't have when I can compare them to something I do have. Thanks again for taking the time.

I've remeasured most of the lights I'm interested in. Perhaps I can do a page on my Web site but I'm not sure I have the time. The ones done yesterday are more accurate in my opinion than the ones I did previously.

What other lights have I measured that you'd like to see. There are three posts yesterday that did the minimag with a stockish lamp and a Brinkmann Nexstar, second post was the Brinkmann LX and the SF E2e and this post. The only thing missing is a 6D Mag, I think, which I hadn't planned to remeasure.

I will measure the UKE SL6 when it arrives--probably in about 10 days.

I don't have a digital camera so I'm not doing beam shots.

Cheers,

Richard
