I didn't know when getting into lights a few months ago that a large part of it, at least for me, was figuring out how to carry the things. For my L1D, I got a Concealco holster, which has worked great, and I'm hoping the LF3XT coming for Christmas will also fit.

But the LF2 and LF2X have been harder to find the right carry for. I already have a SOG knife clipped in one pocket, so don't want another clip carry. And the clip that comes with the LF2X doesn't grip strongly. The lanyard attachment design on the LF2X is one of its two weak points IMHO (the other is how slick the finish is), since if you want to tail stand the light, you can't use the tape method for keeping it from opening. And if you put a split ring on the LF2, you can't tail stand it, unless the split ring goes through 2 holes, and then you have it sticking out sideways to catch on fabric when pulling it out.

So here is where I am with carry methods:

I threaded Spectra cord through the holes, burnt the ends, then whipped them together. A regular knot wouldn't fit in recess on end of LF2. I like the cord attachment because it slides out of the pocket smoothly.

That's a metal loop in the clip holder, made by Pyromaniac, and allows the LF2X to tail stand. It can catch slightly when pulling the light out of the pocket, but it's smoother than a split ring sticking out sideways on the LF2. The other problem I've found with the LF2X is how smooth the finish is, so I've wrapped a rubber band around the shallow knurling, to get a better grip for turning on with one hand. I am going to look for something more sturdy to use as a wrap.

The back pocket carry keeps the light to the side so I don't sit on it, and the GITD end to the lanyard will slip out from under the belt if tugged on, but stays in place otherwise. And the lanyard makes a good wrist strap.

I hope this will be useful to someone else, since I have gotten a lot of these ideas here at CPF. If you have other ideas, please share them.
