Large wave of LunaSol 20's **SOLD OUT **

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Well I got my Lunasol20 from Don today. It's pretty darn cool. It's amazing how powerfully soft the beam is. Walking around my dark house on low is great. I took it outside to see the throw on high and it's pretty good there too. I guess it could be brighter, but in my reality I think it might be plenty. The trit tube on the button is a nice touch. Mine does have a small tool mark that Don warns some might have. Kind of a bummer but it is small and easily overlooked😀. The pocket clip works like a champ. The whole thing is just super light and solid feeling. No rattles at all. This is my first high dollar light and I'm very pleased. I do wish I had other lights if only to compare them. I can only let myself afford ONE light and I think this one will fit well. I'll take some pics later, but mine will SUCK compared to Deaths Head.
Now off to mess with it some more.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Well, I bit the bullet last night and ordered a LS20 late yesterday evening. Got an email from McGizmo this morning saying the light was shipping. Amazingly fast turnaround. As Darth Vader would say, "Impressive. Most impressive."

Now the agony of waiting for the package to arrive is killing me... :sigh:

Next, to start saving up for a Haiku. Hopefully in a few months, once I have enough stored away, there will still be a Haiku wave I can catch... :broke:

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Glad to see the LS20 sales picking up a bit! Guess the economy is turning around for some!

Well, actually my own economy has taken a little dent after I ran into CPF 😀but that has nothing to do with the global financial crisis. On the contrary, busy trade between different parts of the world should lessen the risk for economic depression.

Anyway, the LunaSol 20 I bought only 2 weeks ago has hitherto been worth every single crown I paid for it. I have EDCed it every day and am really impressed with its overall usefullness, the different beam shapes and well balanced levels of brightness. Add to that a rock solid build, simple interface and great haptic qualities (truly a light that feels like a natural extension of the hand) and you have a genuine flashlight classic in the making.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Thanks everyone! It has been a pleasant situation in having enough of these on hand to be able to fill a request when it comes in. There are about a dozen of these left now and no present plans for another run. I don't know what the future may bring.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

I got in on this wave in a round about fashion.

I thought I wanted just a floody type light so I ordered a SunDrop 3S from Don and received it several days later. Beautiful light figuratively and literally, but the clicky switch just didn't feel right, not that there was anything wrong with it, just wasn't for me.

Also realized after a couple evenings playing around with it, that even though the high level is fairly bright, I simply prefered a more traditional reflector type beam past 10-12 feet.

So, I sent Don an e-mail asking if it would be possible to exchange the SunDrop for a LunaSol 20, to which he answered in the affirmative.

The LunaSol arrived yesterday, and I've already had to charge the battery twice! I just can't stop playing with it. My TI PD-S will probably now get relegated to bed-side duty.:mecry:

Yes, as has been pointed out elsewhere, this light has neither the lowest low or highest high level out there, but THIS LIGHT IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!:twothumbs :twothumbsThe combination of low flood and high spot levels just simply has to be seen to be appreciated.

Anyone still on the fence about getting one of these: Just DO it - - - You WON'T be sorry.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Well goat I once had a 20, but liked my 27 better. So I sold it, then I missed it. Then Don said there was only a dozen left!

That was the straw that broke PSM's bank. 😀

Oh, :paypal:

Thanks Don!

Cool, looks like I made a good choice in ordering the LS20 first from my wish list.

The waiting for the light to arrive is agonizing, though. I checked the USPS website earlier this morning and it looks like it is scheduled to arrive in my mailbox today... cannot wait...

If you like yours as much as I do mine, you'll be VERY happy with it.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Well, my LunaSol 20 was patiently waiting for me when I got home earlier tonight. Many thanks to McGizmo for shipping it out in such a timely fashion. You rock! :twothumbs

This light is definitely a piece of functional art. The flood beam is perfect for near field illumination and the throw beam is great for outdoors use. What makes it truly impressive for me is how the tints of the 3mm LEDs and the Golden Dragon LED in the center are IMHO perfectly matched. This is my first McGizmo PD light (though I own a NiteCore D10 and EX10 with the Smart PD system) and IMHO the original is still the best. Plus, the tritium vial in the piston is a great touch. Overall, just an awesome light.

I am sooooo glad that I was able to get the LunaSol 20 before this wave ended, especially since McGizmo has mentioned there are no present plans for another run. :grin2:

This is my second McGizmo light (got a Sundrop via B/S/T as my first McGizmo earlier this year) and I have a feeling it will not be my last. I still have the Haiku on my wish list and I still have hope that someday my Sundrop can be upgraded to a Sundrop 3S...

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Hoping I made the cut......resisted for as long as possible, then saw something that said there weren't too many left. Had to jump.

Re: Large wave of LunaSol 20's

Just got mine, thanks Don!!

And to bring expectations down a notch, mine had 5 or 6 scratches that represent tool marks!
