Since I lost my first LD01 due to (at least in part) the puny ballpoint pen slide-on clip, I tried one of my own. It is 304 stainless, cut out of a small weld test coupon with one of those slicer wheels. Beat the everlovin' s**t out of it to thin it some and work-harden it a bit. Less than one hour with 2 or 3 different files and some 400 grit wet-dry paper and I was ready to go. I used a 4-40 screw from the inside and the ugly nut on the outside. Version 1.2.0 would be SS as thick as the recess in the back end of the light with a threaded hole instead of the nut and the material tapered (thickness) on the actual clip portion. Version 2.1.0 will be titanium and 2.2.0 would be the full monty, the thicker Ti with a tapered clip section.

The good:
Grips like grim death
Cheap and fast
Solid on the body of the light

The bad:
Have to drill a hole and cut a notch in the light
Unknown how good the springiness of the ss will hold up
Not 100% professional appearance (at least with 1.1.0)

Aside from the fugly bolt on the top, the side view is very nice! It definitely is different from the clips I'm used to seeing. Maybe add a snug black cap on the top to hide the bolt and scratched part of the clip? Other than that good work! Can't wait to see Version 2! Keep us updated.

Yeah, I am considering V 1.1.1 where i dress the nut off round and clean it up some. Maybe a V 1.1.2 where I weld a SS nut over the hole in the clip

Edit: Mods, this maybe should go into modified lights
