I'm looking for a new belt.
I was hoping that someone here could make a few recommendations.

This would be for everyday wear.
It would hold the everyday carry items (flashlight, cell phone) and would also be used to carry criminal deterrents for those who make a mistake in the victim selection process.

Current belt was actually made by Timberland.
It is 1.5" wide and made of a single piece of solid leather.
I tried another one of theirs and its composite.
It fell apart within a month.

Anyone know of good belt manufacturers that make solid belts?

There used to be a supporter here that had an interesting belt.
Does anyone know who that was and if it was good?

Thanks,
Jon

Aker leather belt
about $30.00 from Galls.
It looks like a standard dress belt, but has a polymer liner to stiffen it without being overly thick. suitable to carry a weapon or anything else . but not the tactical look

Check out makers of holsters and gun leather. Galco, Safariland, Bianchi etc. They make reinforced dress belts that don't look like "gun" belts.

For what it's worth, I wear a Milt Sparks 1.5" cowhide belt and I always carry a "criminal deterrant". The Milt Sparks belt is excellent in every way. You won't go wrong buying just about any double thickness belt from any of the well known manufacturers of handgun leather products.

I have a Filson, that I've had for years, decent looking and tough as nails.

I forget the manufacturer, but it's the heavy solid leather work belt they sell at Wal-Mart - I hate the place, but I happened to be in there, needed a couple new belts, and have now had 'em for three years of daily hard wear, and they're still solid. Cheap, too, at $12 or so, and solid enough for just about any carry needs.

Amazingly high quality for a Schlock-Mart product.

I like and wear the belts by Galco . They are heavy duty - in order to be able to support firearms, but they fit in for everyday wear for all but the most dressy environments. In particular, I wear the 1 1/4" SB9 Dress Belt (pictured below) which is a double thickness belt with a solid brass buckle.

There are lots of options including all of the custom holster manufactures. El Paso Saddlery, Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks etc. You can check out Filson. If you don't need leather consider the 1.5 inch instructor belt from the wilderness-it is a great belt for carrying our "stuff".

Still have belts that lasted for years from Milt Sparks, Kramers and one from Horseshoe Leathers in England. Top quality. Another alternative is a heavy duty web belt from Wilderness.

Another option is Tandy Leather (a crafts place). My everyday belt is one I got there - you can buy belt blanks (pre-punched for a buckle, with fasteners to hold it closed) in a variety of widths and embossing patterns, keepers (the leather loop that holds the end of the belt), various designs of buckle, and your choice of leather dye (be sure to wear rubber gloves when using this stuff - it might not be hazardous, but it works just as well on skin).

Wow, thanks for all the responses.
In case this helps anyone else looking, I'm going to add the links for the ones suggested.
This should make this a highly functional post for anyone else looking...
