I was at a store today and they had the Leatherman Crunch on clearance for $46.95. It looks like this might be a decent price, but is this a worthwhile multi-tool?

Definitely a very worthwhile multi-tool, but I seldom carry mine as the only mult-tool, usually as a secondary one. The Crunch has a lot of clamping force and the vise-grip action, which is pretty unique and handy (only comparable one I know of is the Vise-Grip tool which is a lot bigger), but is very limited on its other tools. In addition to the pliers, it only has a short serrated blade, file, two regular and a philips screwdriver, and all are locking. Unless you specifically need the extra clamping force and locking vise-grip action, I wouldn't buy it to use as your only multi-tool. As a supplementery tool, it is great though, doing some things a regular Leatherman could never do.

I love my Crunch. Those locking jaws can be used as a wrench if need be, something that regular pliers could never do. It's true that the other tools are somewhat limited, but I normally carry an SAK or a Leatherman Juice tool to supplement the Crunch.

WOW, what store? Do tell, I've been trying to find one under $58. A buddy of mine has one and it's truly handy.

I agree. I carry one, but the primary tool I carry is a Gerber Legend.
With the clamping action the Crunch can act as "third hand." Also, the hole for the tension adjusment screw is a standard hex bit holder. It is also extremely well-made.
