LED and driver recommendation for Maglite project.

I'm doing my first flashlight project that will be a 2D Maglite and I've sourced an aluminum op 52mm reflector that is suitable for a single Cree Xlamp XHP70 LED and I'm going to run 2 rechargeable 26650 batteries. I'd just like a recommendation for a good version of the LED as when I look on the Cutter led site here in Australia there are heaps of variations that mean nothing to me. Also a good driver recommendation would be great. I just want a good all round use flashlight with a decent throw. Any input on the project will be appreciated. I'll do a post on it once I have the bits together.
