I am new to this...Am I understanding this correctly?

A single SSC P7 C bin is brighter than 3 Cree XR-E Q5's ?

Can somebody verify that for me? I am building a MAG light conversion dive light with a 12 V NiMH 4.5 aH battery and using a single P7 would make my life easy.

Let's call the p7 more efficient.

Three XR-Es would get rid of their heat better. Not that heat is a problem in dive lights.

Have you considered an MC-E?

The choice often comes down to the kind of beam you want.

I built a P7 dive light using a reflector and I have built a 4 x Q5 dive light using aspherics both in a mag.
The P7 was a bit better than a 10w HID ( well quite a bit) The 4 Q5 aspheric was on par with a 21w HID. Cost is similar. Difficulty of build is higher.
