LED mod help!

ok guys, I know nothing about how an LED is installed, how it works, or how to power it.

basically I am looking to replace the green reset power LED with a purple LED (UV) color. then install a white case mod with it. is this possible? if so, would someone be nice enough to help me buy the parts needed, install them and guide me through the process?

I also wanted to install a purple LED on the controller (where the red light usually is).

P.S. this is for the FAT PS2; I also have a slim Ps2.

if you bought a 410nm type blacklight led, of the same size, it would probably work in place of the green without problems. just a matter of removing the one, and putting the other in place, and maintaint the polarity (+-) correctally.
it looks like a 3mm difuse green now.
if you go more shortwave you might have to make other adjustments, but then shortwave isnt purple, and it wont show up much, so that doesnt matter the 410 is a dark purple blacklight type color.

the red led on the controller could have a red filter difuser thing on it, and it could be more difficult to get the color out of the hole it sits in. because of the filter on top of it, its probably a 3mm under there too, or a rectangular one.

i dont have a PS2 so that is all i could say. other than welcome to the forum, and it probably is the right place.
