Wondered where I could get LEDs for a diy flashlight and other projects.

Tips welcome.

I find digikey, mouser etc. to be much too expensive in shipping for small quantities, but maybe that's where I live. For small quantities, you can go for the likes of DX or banggood, but better quality/binning (colour binning as well as performance bin) seems to come from the likes of Illumination Supply, LED Rise, etc. FastTech can come in somewhere in either of those two groups. Those latter few can sometimes actually come in cheaper than the bulk china sites.

Hard to disagree if you want 1 led with Free Shipping, but if you want specific bins and you want a few leds there are better options

I wish that Digikey or mouser had the option to mount LED's to mcpcb boards however. That would be a nice selling feature for them. Arrow Electronics as well always has a good selection

That is why I get them from Cutter. Nicely mounted and on copper too.
