LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

Here I go again.....

The Infinity & Lightwave 2000 flashlights will never really turn all the way "off" if the "dead" area -non reflective, (around the inner RIM), has neatly applied the glow material posted by mooremj et.al.-see below under "Informal tests"...
Using the flashlight will"force" the material to charge WAY up, and the business end of the light will glow brightly for some time after u turn it "off".
-p.s. the flashlight, after this is done, may look a little brighter when it's on, -that's because it is.

*note: above suggestion would apply to
white LED versions only.

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

Interesting. Did you apply the stick on stuff or a powder? I'd like to try this with an Infinity.

It's the GOOD stick-on stuff.
BTW-did you happen to notice the
website @: www.neoglow.com ?

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

Thanks, checked the site - they also sell a glow in the dark nail polish, but it doesn't say what intensity that version is.

Not that I'm suggesting anything . . . .

But actually, I have occasionally borrowed a girlfriends clear nail varnish ( Umm, er, not to actually wear ) as a temporary protective waterproof coating for various experiments.

As you all will know ( ! ), these formulations are easily removed with acetone, and more or less self-levelling, giving a clean shiny finish.

( Not sure about the heat resistance of this inflammable stuff though, caution ! )

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

Thanks Doug. The website looks good. The green fingernail polish might be perfect for this (I like green)

You might be able to coat it with some sort of polyurethane to make it really last.

Could it be that SOME flashoholics have some

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

We were only considering the STRAIGHT MASCULINE nail polish. The kinds that Clint Eastwood or John Wayne would use to paint something.

I didn't mean I liked green for fashion. I use green for night vision while backpacking.

: I think you have us confused with some of the regular flashlight guys, who seem to like the bigger lights.

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

Hmmm, the nail polish might be neat. I could not find a phone #. Has anyone ordered it yet. How many nails will it do? Ok, but really, it might be the thing for making some glow reflectors.

Re: LEDs Won\'t Turn "off"

I couldn't find Neoglow's Ph. # either, but I sent 'em an email Tuesday-(haven't heard back yet)
