Is there any place to get Leef parts other than Lighthound? I really like Lighthound but their supply of the Leef parts I'm looking for is low. I want to get a 3 x 18650 C tailcap to M head Leefbody and a clicky tailcap.

A black Leefbody is in stock at LH but no tailcaps. Also, I don't want to end up with the amazing technicolor dream light (I want the parts to match as much as possible).

Perhaps the shortage at LH is due to the general supply/demand nature of these parts but if more supplier options exist, that increases my chances of getting parts that'll match reasonably. Anyone know of other suppliers?

Leef sells his pieces exclusively through Lighthound. It is not their fault that stocks are low/unreliable - the most popular items sell out very quickly.

Bummer. Looks like I'll wait and piece things together as they become available. Thanks for the information!

Your best bet might be a WTB here in C&M B/S/T, but a 3x18650 C-M in HA Nat will be hard to find. The tailcap might be less of a problem, and of course a SF tailcap such as a Z48 would be an alternative.

Why not go for the black one, and get a black SF tail (Z49)? You'll be able to sell/trade it later. Or with a gray (HA Nat) head, a black body and a gray tail can look pretty smart.

You might also check with MilkySpit. As co-conspirators, he sometimes has inventory on Leef goodies which are not generally available.

Another option is to expand your search to C-C tubes. You can always add a C2M LeefDaptor to accomplish what you need.

I've been checking LH's site at least 2 times a day for months. In emails he says, "Another couple of weeks". Since Dec. 2007. And Feb. 2008. And April 2008.

Quite frankly I'm about ready to take one of my old M-C bodies to a local machine shop and have them build me a couple. In fact a few weeks from now I'll be on the east coast, and one of my Dad's best buddies has a super quality CNC machine shop. Normally I'm dead set against "copy-cats", but after over 6 months of waiting enough is enough.

Leef apparently is unable, unwilling, and/or indifferent to the customers wanting his product. Producing the black M-C bodies made no sense to me, and in fact they have NOT sold out quickly. I just wish accurate info had been conveyed about future availability.

ETA: "my" version will have an outer diameter similar to a c cell maglite, with an internal dimension to accept 18650's, and have heat sink "fins" at the bezel end similar to SF millenium lights.

That's a good idea! To be honest, I didn't even know SF was making clicky tailcaps. This is my first SF light in many years and I've never had one with anything other than a twisty tailcap.

I think we should cut Leef some slack. He's not doing this to make money but more as a service to CPFers. It's not like he took people's money for pre-orders.

To be clear, I didn't start this thread to slam anyone. I was just curious if there was another place I should look for the items I'm looking for.

It's clear Leef makes good stuff and parts for Surefire mods is a pretty small nitch market. So waiting until more parts are available is just something we deal with because of our interest in lights. Also, I've got no problems with Lighthound. I've purchased many things from LH and have only good experiences to report.

I was wasn't really referring to your posts tntsl, just some of the other comments I've seen about Leef.
