Now that FlashlightLens is no longer selling the 19.8mm UCL for the ARC LS, what is everyone using? I am modifying a couple of old LSs and wanted to replace the scratched lenses. Any ideas? Thanks.

Send Chris an email. He used to cut them as needed when they weren't standard products on his site yet.

I sure hope that's not true, as I need to order another "batch" of Arc LS UCLs. Did you hear this from Chris, D-LIGHT? Sounds strange since small runs and custom lenses are the cornerstone of his business. I've got a couple of lenses from upgrade "pulls' that you are welcome to if you want them BTW, just PM me.

word i've heard is flashlightlens is moving operations and won't be able to make custom lenses for a while, but implication was soon as he gets the shop set up at the new place he'd be able to get that operation going again... i sure hope so.. he made me a very nice 3mm thick x 4" diam. lens for my flashlight.

I e-mailed Chris just a few days ago about a 19.8mm UCL lens and he said they are no longer available.

Peter, if you have an extra one, I could sure use it.

My understanding is they have stopped the custom lens work also.

Aagh! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Christo_pull_hair.gif If this is true, woe unto us.

this certainly presents a dilemma.

i did find this site though that should resolve some issues in the mean time...they do carry a 19.8mm.

i recoginzed the package photo they have and dug up the lens i got from Dat2Zip and sure enough, same company. I'm not sure what the diff is between UCL and mineral glass is, but i know it's not as scratch resistant as Sapphire glass (aluminum oxide). and i'm sure there's no A/R coating.

anyone know the transmission properties of mineral glass?
