Lens reflection test

Today when the sun was shining in my room and on the lens of my EX10 I had the idea of doing a 'lens reflection test'

The distance between the flashlights and the reflections were about 10cm. On the right is the Maglite plastic lens, in the middle the lens of the JetBeam Jet-III Pro I.B.S. and on the right is the lens of the EX10:

I don't know if this is too small-minded but can somebody explain my why the glass lens of the Jet-III reflects nearly the some amount of light as the plastic lens of the Maglite? I expected a much greater difference :duh2:.

the ar coating of nitecores lights is applied on the emitter side. the side that is reflecting the sunlight is diamond coated.

the diamond coating helps to keep the glass to air reflections low
and the ar coating on the emitter side is air to glass
that means the lens is oneway designed :tinfoil:


if you would turn the lens and get the same results as before, then i would be surprised :thinking: ........ im right, right?
 
Ok so the reason why the reflection of the lens of the EX10 is so much dimmer than that of the Jet-III is because I put the lens of the EX10 in up-side-down :whistle:.
