Let my Surefire Aviator get very hot in a running vehicle.

Hi All,

As the title of the thread implies, today I took about a 20 minute drive home from a Costco haul. I set my Surefire Aviator in the center console on the ride home where it fits perfectly. However, it's right behind the gearshift in my car, and that area tends to get very hot to the touch when the engine is running. After getting home, I realized I had forgotten about that quirk in my car, and picked up the flashlight to realize it was very hot to the touch (all over). Should I be concerned of any thermal damage to the emitter or electronics in this light from excursions into high temperatures?
Thanks!

Probably the battery is the most temperature sensitive component for that scenario. I'll venture a guess that since the light wasn't running in those temperatures, then the light itself is likely undamaged.

Makes sense. It brings to mind all the times I've washed & dried my Streamlight Microstream AAA or 4Sevens Preon II in the laundry. Even in low heat mode I would guess the dryer gets the light pretty hot.
In those instances the lights seemed to work fine afterward but the Eneloops took damage, not wanting to take a charge.

I used to keep one in my jeep.
On very hot days, the light was on when I got into my jeep. Not sure how, but happens everytime it's over 100°f.
The light works fine. I'm guessing all the metals expand and make contact. If it's super hot, I won't leave a light in the jeep.
