I picked up a LF HO-12 D36 (12V, 550 Lumens) for my Rattlesnake and am using with 4xCR123s, very nice! But I was wondering if it can be safely powered by li-ions in a certain configuration. I didn't see this module listed anywhere as an option in mdocod's li-ion incandescent compatibility thread. Also, the Lumens Factory website says it is designed for 4xCR123 batteries.

Anyone using this module with li-ions?

I used to drive it with 4 x RCR123A LiFePO4 with no problem. Not sure about 4 x RCR123A though. But I'm pretty sure 3 x RCR123A with 1 dummy will work fine. Since I got the extension to use D36 EO-13 with 700 lumens I haven't looked back yet.

It is not advisable to use the HO-12 with Li-ion batteries as it is not designed to be used with rechargeables.

Using rechargables MIGHT not blow it, but it will still shorten the life of the lamp considerably.

Cheers, :)

Good to know Mark, thanks! I also have the EO-9L for this light when I want to use rechargeables anyway. I'll stick with primaries for this lamp.
