I worked on this over the weekend. I milled out a slot for one of Bart's bright green tritium vials. The LF3XT has the perfect sidewall for this proces. It is 2.5mm thick where I installed it, so the 1.5mm vial fit very nicely. No breach of the sidewall. I used 2ton epoxy to set it in the slot, then cover it over to a smooth and clear finish. Running your finger over you can't feel its even there except it is smooth. Very happy with it.

This thing glows bright on my nightstand... What do you guys think ?

PM me if you would like higher-res closeups.

What is the purpose of these tritium things?

To find your flashlight in the dark. They glow. I thought you had to mill a grove to install one but I can't tell in that picture if he did.

Now, how about offering this service:

3 tubes, equally spaced along the body

- and -

another one in the tail

Very nice, an excellent mod. I'm going to have to have a go at that.

Just the clip to wait for and we really will have the best light in the world. :grin2:

You don't have to wait for the clip. It is here! Check EliteLED.COM or the forum thread here:

.
Unfortunately, at the present time you can't buy the clip by itself. You must buy a package that includes a 2AA battery tube with a clip/switch assembly for the CR123 body.

Nice one BabyDoc. I'll be waiting for a package that doesn't include the AA tube though. I'll stay tuned. I can't really see why it's being offered as a package, it's obvious the clip may not appeal to some and the tube may not appeal to others. Two completely different products in one package.

Mind you, knowing Liteflux they'll provide EXACTLY what we want. Talk about a company that listens to it's audience.

Anyway, thread drift, sorry. I do need a trit or three in mine I think.

Now that I can see the vial that is really nicely done. I'm surprised nobody sells flashlights like that and that so few clicky tails are chemiluminescent.

There's a significant legal issue

with selling Tritium items in U.S.A.

I recall 4Sevens looked into offering this service,

but he quickly came to the conclusion that

it simply wasn't worth the Gov't hassle and red-tape. 🙁

Creecher, the wait is over for you. LiteFlux has provided exactly what you want. Check out EliteLED.COM again. They have updated their website and you can now get the clip/tail assembly alone. Not only that, but if somebody want's the 2AA tube alone, that's also an option.

The clip with Budman's trit does make this the perfect light!!!

I knew Liteflux would do it. I only emailed EliteLED yesterday and Gary said he was looking into it, then today they're available.🙂

In the meantime, of course, I've almost convinced myself that the AA tube may be worth getting too!

Budman, I haven't dared fiddle with the tailcap yet. Any idea if there's enough metal just below the horns to install trits. I'd like 3 blue ones a little nearer the tailcap, leaving below the lanyard hole free.

Also, any problems with epoxy trying to creep into the knurling? Yours looks very tidy.

..I think it really says something when we need a FLOWCHART to work flashlight! :tinfoil:
