Can the Li-ion 17650 be used in the Gladius safely? I am aware that the Gladius accepts 2 CR123A 3V batteries. The 17650 fits the same size as the 2X CR123A.

Has anyone used the 17650 in the Gladius?

Yes but you will get the 15 second flash warning with the 17670 batteries. I still haven't found a rechargeable solution. I really like the Gladius UI and interface too, such a shame I can't use it with guilt-free lumens.

I did a search and found some dudes tried the supposed 3.0V X 2 rechargeables but their still not total safe because their not really 3.0V, something like 4.2V and 3.9 something under load. There are a couple of threads about it in the LED forums, I just can't remember all the details.

I've been using the Tenergy 750mAh/900mAh 3.0 volt RCR123's in my Insight Typhoon and have had no problems thus far.
