Li-Ion CR123 at Fry\'s

I bought some "Get Juice" brand Li-I-ons at my local Fry's, but I'm getting less burn time out of them than a normal lithium. is this normal with Li-ion, or is this brand just crap? I thought the Li-Ions were supposed to last longer than others.

Folks seem to have missed this with their urgings to try other parts:

Yes, the Li-ions you bought will definitely give less lifetime than 'one shot' 123 cells. As will any brand. By a factor of two or three. Check the mAh capacities of each.

They will give longer run times than other rechargables, size for size, but Li primary cells will beat them every time.

Good Li-Ion rechargeable 123 cells seem to have about 700 mAh capacity, compared to quality regular CR123 cells which have 1200 to 1400 mAh capacities. The rechargeable has a higher voltage, so total energy capacity will be a bit more than half that of the regular CR123.

Having said that, one or more people that have tried the "Get Juice" brand batteries have been sorely disappointed by their apparent capacity compared to the ones from Battery Station or JSBurly.

I suppose those cells come of the charger with 3,6V? They only reach full capacity when charged to around 4.1V / 4.2V. If your cells come of with 3,6V you could try to find someone that can mod your charger to charge the cells to full capacity. They will still have less capacity than regular cr123's but will probably be better than now.

Question is are they safe to charge to 4.2V? Also they don't have underdischarge protection being I've used them down to 1.4V (unsafe). They also get alot hotter than other rechargeable 123 batteries.
