Here's about the smallest I can make a Hydra.

This is the Brinkmann 2C outfitted with three Luxeons, and DC/DC. Bright light at about half the weight of the big Hydra XP4. Very tight fit, but it all went in with a little struggle.......

We really need to get you a digital camera with a speedlight. Your mods always look so much better when photographed with something other than a webcam or a video still.

And, if you just get that urge for something a little bit brighter, here's the 2 CR123 to 2 C cell adapter. This allows for some really insane brightness running on 6V, but run time kinda sucks............

Remember, I'm first in line for your XP3 and all accesories

Gee, I guess you must not sleep then- Otherwise, I don't see how you could get so many well done, innovative things made.

PLUS, that is a great loking website. Several of the links don't work though. So, I guess it is a work in progress, huh?

Okay, if the order of response will mean for me to get the privilege of ordering one in line in case this would be made available....I want one.

Whoa there, the thermal epoxy is just set up enough tonight that I can play, er, test it properly for run time and heat monitoring. Let's see what this puppy can do before we let it chase cars down the hiway.

I'll let you know latter what I think about it when tests are complete.

I know, I know, it's a hard job testing this stuff, but hey, somebody's got to do it

Update:

No heat problems, barely gets warm even outside at 80+F tonight. Run times gota wait, as Mr. Sandman is calling.

But wait, where did this come from?

The little 2C cell Hydra apparently has called in his new big brother, the XP3 Magnum 3 C cell. Now this is getting out of hand. How many Hydras can be in one family?

What next? An AAA version attached to a teething ring? Or maybe an idiotic 3D or 4D cell monstrosity? This has got to stop! Call out the villagers and slay the Hydra before it's too late........

Which is brighter, big brother or little kid on 123 steroids?

The kid on steriods is brighter, but even though the Hydra had no problems, the batteries got so hot after a few minutes I think that option will be dropped. The CR's didn't like being relieved of that much power that fast.

Lambda, get the feeling a lot of people out there are hanging for the 5W mods to come out. Still love the LI.
