Greetings,

Just found this site. I run a law enforcement gear and uniform shop in Los Angeles county. I've built up what I think is a good selection of lights but I'm always looking for advice on whether I should try something else.

Here's what I have in stock:

Streamlight: SL20 X, XP-Led, X-Led. Stinger DS LED, LED, XT, XT HP. Strion.

Surefire: G2 & LED. G3 & LED. G2Z, 6P & LED. 6P/D & LED. 9P. E2E, E2D, E2D-LED. A2 (red). L4. L2. E1B (coming soon). P60/61 P90/91 and P60L modules.

Innova: T1, T3, T4, T5. XO, XO3. Bolt 2A, 2L.

So any other ideas?

5.11 Tactical: Light for Life (when Ivus gets them built).

Since your in L.A., I'd suggest Pelican stuff, mainly because the 7060 is LAPD's duty light, and the LAPD has a ton of influence on the various other departments in So. Cal.

Nice Line-up...100 times better than than LEO stores here...The combat grip lights are real popular...I see you already have the G2Z...I'd consider having 2 or 3 C2's/Z2's and V70 Holsters for those that may want a "Better" Combat Grip light. Oh, and the M3-CB.

A couple of other suggestions:

The Fenix TK10 and 11 have gotten good reviews on this board for LE work.

I was going to suggest a couple of Malkoff drop-ins for your Surefire line, but I don't know if that's particularly feasible.

The Surefire "combat rings" for the P/G seris.

What would you like to try?

IIRC some of the LEOs here also use the Dereelight DBS for throw.

:welcome:

I would suggest the Eagletac T10C2, which is similar to the TK11, but it seems to be a bit brighter.

Nice selection you have already, i wish there were shops near me that had what you did.

The pelican range as suggested would be a good adition imo.
And maybee some maglites for those who still like them.

Like a Mag Charger. Excellent value for money as well as being a substantial upgrade to standard or LED maglite that people might already carry. You could also carry NiMH replacement battery packs for that instant extra sale. ;)

Why do you not carry any of the Surefire weapon mounted lights such as the X20B or X300? How bout any the rifle mounted lights such as the Surefire M95 series? Outside of Surefire I would also second the Fenix TK10 and TK11 lights as well! I have been very happy with my TK10's at work. Looks like you have a fairly large variety. Keep up the great work! The uniform shops around here know of Surefire and nothing else. There is a whole wide world of lights outside of Surefire. Explore all of the options in order to keep prices down and also to offer your officers a wide variety! Trust me...they will appreciate it and keep coming back!!!

where is your shop at in la. im looking for a new toy or two. especially the led strion

Another one I forgot. I carry the x300 and just started with the TLR-1. LA Sheriff's Department just approved the 9mm S&W M&P for duty, but Safariland doesn't make an appropriate (6280/5) holster that will accommodate that weapon with the x300, but does for the TLR-1. Since the M&P is relatively inexpensive (compared to Sig or H&K) and carries a good rep a lot of deputies are looking to add one. I'll have to wait until someone brings in an M&P to see if I can slide an x300 on and make it fit the duty holster.

+1

Also, I see you have all the Inova T-series lights except the T2. Any reason in particular you left that one out?

It sits in terms of price and performance between the T1 and T3. I have a relatively small store and have to pick and choose. So far none of the Inovas have proven to be good performers. I'm moving more 6P LEDs and E2D LEDs than my entire Inova line combined.

This is what I hate about Streamlight. I order through a distributor and almost never hear about new products. How long has an LED version of the Strion been out? It doesn't matter since I should have heard about it before it happened.

OBTW, I don't have it yet. But I will soon. :scowl:

My store is in Santa Clarita.
