Yup. I've checked out your Zebralight reviews as well (awesome, by the way!) You've inspired me to check out a D3AA as one of my next acquisitions. What body material do you recommend these days? Stay with the aluminum for better heat dissipation?

I do prefer the Aluminum model, because I like light weight gear.

I tried the Ti w Copper head and sold it because I felt the weight was more than I wanted to bear.. Im usually wearing slacks, not jeans.

I was also disappointed that the tailmagnet was too weak to hold the TiCu light sideways..

the TiCu is fun to look at, but for me, not practical to carry

I like the Flat switch ring (it is Stainless by default, there are also Ti and Copper available). After I order the light and get a confirmation email, I reply to that with a request to use the Flat Copper Switch ring, and Hank builds accordingly.

I like the tailmagnet option, and I like the Amber switch button LEDs, Not the RGB switch. I use the stock 10511 optic, if you want to experiment with a bit more throwy optic, add a 10507 optic. I buy the clip, even though I dont use it.

As of today there is also a headlamp version called Dw3AA, I ordered one because I favor Anduril UI. I added a 10511 optic to the order, because this model ships w a more floody optic, the 10508, than I feel I need.

Even though the Zebra is smaller and lighter, with the D3AA I get my favorite LEDs, DeDomed 4500K 519a.

If this is your first Anduril light, I will be happy to help answer any questions.

Excellent! Thanks for all the great info.

This will be my second Anduril light. Now my big choice is which emitter. High CRI is a must, but I'm not sure if the rosier tint of the dedomed version would be best for evaluating skin tones and color. Would you still recommend the 4500K 519a for that, or something else?

for evaluating skin tones and color
for that purpose, I think Domed 519a 5700K is the best option because

It is closest to the color temperature and tint of bright sunlight. Its a great High CRI LED, for applications that call for Daylight White with Neutral (non rosy) Tint
