Lights You Want Me To Mod

Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Help Support CPF:

Thrunite TN30 Mini. Now on their website. Looks like the TN36 but uses XM-L2 instead, and price is just above $100.

We really need some sort of alternative to the ZeroRez. Anyone running over 5 amps in a light needs something better than a McClicky.

Vinh, I asked the OverReady folks about the FeT switches, this is my query:
I've heard that you may be working on a P60 FeT switch, is this true? Vinh's p-60 drop-ins are starting to hit 10 amps; making the McClicky useless and the ZeroRez the only option. I would really like a proper switch that can handle these high amps. I've heard that Matteus (something like this - an Aussie) was working on something very similar - but after putting a fair amount of "coin" into the project ran into a huge stumbling block. Last time Nfetterly was PMing with him he said that he had packed up everything he had done and sent it to the Oveready folks, hoping that they would be able to complete it. Are you guys working on making a FeT switch? If not, would you consider it? I know alot of Vinh's fans are in need of them.
The reply from Overready was:

We approached Matteus but have not seen action on this and are not (yet) in possession of the parts needed to develop his switch further. If we started today, it might be done by 2017, best case. In the mean time, if there is a way to run your module at twice the voltage, it will operate at half the amperage, supporting the McClicky.

Is Overready's recommendation feasible?
.....Nevermind, that would mean double batteries on every light. Guess stuck with ZeroRez.

Thanks for the investigative work ^^
My FETtie broke and VIDSM promised me a replacement but never responded & disappeared.
Seems like a simpler solution would be a beefed up mechanical switch rather than the FET one which requires power to work.
Like a super McClicky.
Idk.

THERE IS HOPE! TOFTY AT BLF HAS SEVENTEEN 10 AMP P-60 SWITCHES FOR SALE, ACTUALLY 12 NOW THAT I ORDERED 5.

Hello Vinh, hey i wanted to get a typical EDC 1 x 18650 light that fits in my pocket nicely, i just lost my Fenix PD32UE but have to admit that it was a little too long. Just for a size example a light the size of Olight S30R is pretty good. I know that you usually beef up power but i'm more interested in just having a light this size that has good enough heat sink to maintain high mode indefinately. Anything come to mind? My setting preferences are somewhere in the range of 800, 500, 200, 20. I don't need a ton of setting nor do i need super low settings. Also the floodier the better because this is all about close up work. Thanks

Tofty PM'd me this morning saying he is still selling his P60 10amp switches. The first one is $25, each subsequent is $20. If you have a CQVN I highly recommend registering at BLF and sending him a PM.
