Any comments on the Lightwave 4000...
Its the 10 LEDs with 3 D cells... They claim the light can stay on for 1 month continuously.
I'm new here, if this is a repeat, sorry..

Thanks,
Lew

Hi Lew and welcome aboard! If you would let me know what you are looking for in a light, I may be able to to tell you if the LW4000 is what you are looking for. Jake and myself are owners of LW4000s and this is my secondary light, behind my primary Arc-AAA light. If I need a lot of light, I pull out my LW4000. Original batteries with over 40 hours of run time on them and it still hits over 40 feet.

I sure would like to see a photo of that.

The LW 4000 shining on something 40 feet away, with several other objects in the beam at maybe the 10, 20, and 30 foot marks.

Could be done in 1 photo. Think it would be "enlightening"

Craig and Brock are "s.o.l." on this one, I think, so it's up to someone else.

Who'll step up to the plate? .....WarrenI???

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the replies...and the Welcome Aboard!!

Warren and Jake - I purchased one of your LW4000 lights. So far so good. I do have one question if you don't mind. When I screw the top back on, I can't seem to unscrew it. It locks up super tight and I can't unscrew it. If I have to change batteries I'll be in trouble. Any suggestions?

To answer you questions, I don't exactly know what I want it for. I don't have a Mag Light and just wanted something as a general purpose good light. I have the 9Z, 3P, Scorpion, Stinger Poly but no larger light. I was looking for a general good bright light. I'm hoping the LW4000 will fill the bill for me..... Flashlights aren't a hobby like guns and knives are. So I don't know much about them...

Thanks for all the help!!!!

Lew

Great that you have a LW4000 as this can be used for comparison. Since your quest is to purchase another light, what specifically are you looking for that the LW4000 does not give you.? You mentioned "bright" several times, and I gather you want something brighter than the LW4000. The Arc-LS may fit this bill and it will be a lot smaller than the LW4000. This biggest issue would be run time (4+ hours) and the "123" battery changes. But, it's a dam bright light in a small package. Anything brighter that this may not be provided by an LED source. Maybe if you specify "bright" using examples, we can better help you out.

As for trying to unscrew that top of the LW4000, the only solution I have is "elbow grease". You might want to wrap some sort of rubber around both sections and try again. Remember to not torque it down so tight next time. Also, make sure the turn is clockwise to each other!

Thanks Warrenl for the info...

On the LW4000 - its not that I screw the top on tight. Its screwing it on loosely or lightly it still can't be unscrewed. In other words its not being screwed on too tight. It almost feels like it catchs like the theads bind together making it almost impossible to unscrew. I did take pliers (and rags) and unscrewed it. I tried working it, screwing it on and screwing it off many time but that still doesn't loosen it up. By your response I'm assuming you haven't heard of the problem before. Your rubber idea might work but could you give me an idea of what exactly to use. A rubber band perhaps? I think if I had a couple of the rubber gaskets(I think rubber)that you put around, mine is blue, that might do the trick.

So far I like the 4000. Except for the locking problem (maybe you would have mercy on me!!! grin).

I'll check out your suggustion on the Arc-LS and would also like a brighter flashlight to go along with the 4000. Thanks!!!

Lew

P.S. Boy, I would love if you could smuggle out a couple of blue gaskets for me...
