Charlie,

What have you started?! Your rabid fans are foaming all the more furiously. With the plethora of messages, I have not located the one that really tells me what the story is... I would've voted for no preference, but I'm getting sucked into the madness. I think #031 is still available (per most recent post); I would like that. If already claimed, heck I have to go for #069 as a second choice. I gather your original bid from the anodizers/engravers underestimated the costs & you're getting hosed. So what is the additional cost? Let me know & I'll hook you up.

Regards,

Stephan

Charlie,

Just got online for the first time today and WOW what a can of worms you have opened on your already full plate! Your ability to consistently go over and beyond people’s expectations in build quality, service, updates, special requests, etc. etc. etc. consistently amazes me. It is clear that your passion for this hobby is only exceeded by your commitment in making sure every single person you deal with has the most positive experience possible. This is a quality that is not very often encountered and the whole CPF and flashaholic community is extremely fortunate to have you among us!!!

Now enough butt kissing …lol, this thread was about #’s. I would like to request in a most extreme parsimonious manner 111 & 222 if not taken by anybody else. Otherwise, it would be nice to have my pride (does two constitute a pride?) sequential.

Many thanks!!

Matthew

Hello Charlie,

I guess I should read all the posts before I shoot my request to you. It seems Matthew beat me to 111 and 222.

How about 051 and 061.

Tom

I agree, it maybe a little bit more of a burden for Mr. Bulk, however, this serial number "thang" is helping him offset some additional cost.

Mr. Bulk da man!

Anything that offsets the higher costs and adds no noticeable delay or work on Charlie's end is fine by me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Charlie said it would not be a burden or slow things down...
I really want my light too, but this also helps him out with
the cost increase on his end.
it sounds to me like he is actually for this serial# thing
I don't think he would have if it was going to screw things up for 300 people needing a long awaited fix, he can't be that nuts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow..go away for a day and look how posts show up.
I'll also toss in my contribution to help reduce the cash the bulkster has to pay out of his own pocket.
Considering the work you do for us to get your lights, the least I can do is toss in an extra $20 to help you recoup some of the losses.

Being Chinese too, I guess I'll go for the double happy 88. email and paypal to be sent after this msg. If 88 is taken, then give me anything.

Stephan, naw, no problem, I'll just ignore everyone from now on... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

M_R and SilverFox,
I am in a quandary here - you see, M_R did indeed post first for 111 and 222, however, SilverFox posted the same just 8 minutes later, as well as followed up by g-mailing me which is what I requested people do (it was for different numbers but I already saw his post here about first wanting the same numbers as M_R, 111 and 222!). Soooo...what do I do? What do you think guys? Give one to each? Meanwhile the numbers 111, 222, and 051/061 are being held momentarily in reserve until this can be decided. Dang these hard decisions!

At least if nothing else I am learning a lot about what the preferred serializations seem to be (matching digits, consecutive numbers, earlier numbers, evenly rounded off numbers, etc.) and maybe someday on some other project this info will come in handy (such as to stamp only these types of numbers on the MR Fusion, etc.). Meaning a run of just 50 lights might have serials as high as - "888"!

Lastly, this is all being done during "idle time", or while waitng for the HA3 bodies anyway so thus no delays are being created nor time lost. Thus if not done now, then serial number pickin' would never have happened.

BTW thanks for the support. Originally I thought it would be too much work. But then I realized once the FT's were shipped that all I was doing was calling the CNC shop almost daily and obsessively/compulsively opening and closing the mailbox, all the while knowing full well the bodies were still at the etchers! So this is good therapy (as well as helping to pay off the last of the galldurn project bills). Thanks again!

Wow, all these references to Christmas - although I don't want to create unrealistic anticipation, the LionHeart assembly process has been streamlined enough, both due to actual light design as well as the HAT's cumulative experience with the Horndahl Effect (look it up, it's a very interesting theory about repetitive muscle memory in human actions when made to repeat a task often enough), to virtually assure a Lightning Quick build sequence.

This was proven with the 200 Fast Tracks - the guys were all sitting around with a couple of hours to go, all looking for something to do while Yours Truly was finishing up the final soldering points which is the last phase and which I prefer to do myself.

So even with THREE hundred lights this time, I truly anticipate getting done in an amazingly short time, after which shipping would begin immediately.

Just waiting on those dang bodies to get here...

OK, OK, so I'm being drawn into the serialization (is that a real word?) game... 174 please. Now if can just remember where to look in this thread for how much and where to send it!? Gotta find that email address to back this up.

mrbulk(at)gmail(dot)com would be fine, in fact going there right now to check on latest arrivals...

Okay my old, Old, OLD e-mail addy (the one I use exclusively for Paypal and now for, uh, "fielding" Spam) got stuck last night. I am getting sporadic messages from Paypal but not all of them since a check of the PP site does not reconcile with the "picked serial numbers" list.

If you Paypal'd please CHECK this list (updated below) to make sure you are represented, otherwise your reserved number may be accidentally given to another:

Mr. Bulk,

I was number 61 on the original list and I PayPaled early on for an HA with 2 batts. Hope you didn't lose me!
