Hi Chooch,

I understand what you are saying, however this is a different deal - I was not assigning serial numbers according to the sign up list initially, and planned on simply distributing them at random.

As time passed, several (make that many, now) discovered they wanted to have some control over the number they received, so this thread was started.

If you read through the thread it will give you some clarity regarding how the serial number selection process is being handled, and if you have questions or desire a certain (remaining) number, please e-mail me at the addy in my profile. Thanks.

I voted no, because I'm really not worried about what number I get. Just knowing (and bragging!) about how few of these lights exist is enough for me! "You paid how much for 1 flashlight!? Hmmm...

So far, 46 serial numbers are selected (and that's counting the partner's picks) ... divide that by the 300 units available ... that's 16% of orders ... or, inversely, 84% who don't care what number they get. I think it's amazing how accurate the poll is.

I think that most of us are doing it because the engravers are charging Charlie more for the engraving than the $11 for the HA which he was expecting per light, so that means he's eating the extra costs for the logo and the serials. This means that he gets a bit extra to cover the added expenses.
