Liteflux LF3XT info, questions and programming

:sick2: ... Ughhh ... but Walter ,

Some of us don't carry in a pocket .............

I neck carry at night with a neck lanyard ...... works great for me.

Any other time I would carry it in a small belt pouch .

And ya know ..... you can unscrew it a quarter turn for lockout so it won't come on un-intentionally.

It's too good to give away just for the reasons you stated .

I'm glad to see that you have resolved all your different carry options in one day of ownership.

There have been more reported accidental activations in belt pouches than pockets.

I wouldn't own a light that had to be unscrewed to prevent accidental activation. I reserve this for packing in a duffel bag or wherever.

I understand that you are very proud of your short ownership and switch mini mod and am glad it works for you.

I am simply bringing up the fact that this mod will create a "hair trigger switch" and some users will want to avoid this.

Hi guys does the LF3XT have instant access to max? i.e if the light is on low can you go straight to max? thanks

Yes you can. Just press and hold and it will jump into max. If you want it can be programmed to instantly go to max on first press. You could almost say it is infinitely programmable for any level.

Sure it can. Just do a "press + hold" to go to max beam. If you do a "click + hold", you get the random strobe. Hope that this helps.

Thanks, now I will just have to persuade my machine guy to make me a SS tail end cap with tapped holes in two of the cross sections and find a arc style clip then I'll be set :twothumbs

Hello all,

I received my lf3xt today after ordering it on Sunday. I have been able to figure out all the programming thanks to Budman's flow chart.

However, I am unclear on what exactly the memory function does. I have tested various functions with it on and off, but I don't see any difference in function.

Any ideas what the memory function does exactly?

TIA.

Memory is for use in the FUI. When "on" the light will turn on in the mode it was last in when turned off. When memory is "off" the light will revert back to mode 1 after turning off. I keep the memory in my light turned "off" so it always comes on at the lowest level, which my mode 1 is programmed for.

Memory doesn't affect CUI though. If you were in that it would explain why you didn't see the difference.

Thank you both. I tried it and it works. I think I'll leave it off for now as I have mode 1 at the lowest setting.

LF3XT Love w/Questions

Received my LF3XT a couple days ago and I am happy with it in all regards. I've been playing with the CUI and FUI and have figured out most of the functions, which I think is the secret to this light. You can use Budman231's flowcharts as a road map, but fiddling around with the different switch combinations will give you the hands on experience you really need to operate this little gem. If you get lost, just do a Reset and start over again. You're not going to break it.

I do have a couple questions: can the SOS speed be adjusted or is that just reserved for the Beacon and Strobe? Also, I thought I read somewhere that the LF3XT had an Auto Off function but I can't find mention of that in the flowcharts.

There has been a lot of discussion about the feel of the tailswitch but I find it quite elegant in design and operation. A nice beam, a great UI and a fine feel in the hand (not mention a super value) will easily make this my current EDC.

Thanks for all the work that has been done in this forum about the LF3XT.

Re: LF3XT Love w/Questions

I can't answer your FUI q's as i have left mine in CUI mode but i can agree with you on the switch and beam characteristics.
This is indeed one nice light at a very reasonable price point and i think that it gets somewhat overlooked here for whatever reason.

Enjoy your light .

Re: LF3XT Love w/Questions

Glad you're liking the LF3XT. It takes a little practice, but with the help from Bud's chart you'll get it fine. The SOS speed cannot be adjusted. You are correct that frequency is limited to the strobe/beacon modes. Alas, there is no auto-shutoff. You probably are remembering some of my comments wishing it existed. We'll have to wait for the LF2XT (1 AAA) for this feature.

Re: LF3XT Love w/Questions

Eagleout, there's already a thread for LF3XT questions. I'll merge yours into that one.

Re: LF3XT Love w/Questions

Thanks DM51. I saw that thread but it didn't dawn on me to add to it. :ohgeez:
