Hi Everyone,

Recently bought some protected 14500's. Do these self discharge like NIMH?

I guess they may but albeit a lot slower than nimh.

Thanks in advance for your input!

6 months a li-ion might need a top off, cant beat that.
there are reports of PACKS and protected cells discharging slightly faster.

IF it is self discharging at any noticable rate, it should be SUPECTED as having something wrong, and more care should be used if you charge it.

If you store it fully charged for an extended period, it won't self-discharge but it will lose capacity, ie its true mAH figure will drop. It will become 90% efficient after a year (or something like that - maybe someone else can help here with the correct figure). For storage of Li-Ions, charge to ~50%.

No. They do not self discharge. This was tested by a cpf member. You'll have to search it up.

But howcome my cellphone battery no workie after 1 week not charging?
