this looks like you can easily brake them apart in the middle.

1 varta cr 123 costs 3,15 €
1 varta cr p2 (2x 123) costs 4,95 € (makes 2,50 € each cr 123)

1 € is around 1 USD

Where do you get the CR P2 so cheap in germany? Have you already cut one apart? I think I read that this should work without problems, but don't have one to try myself...

no i did not cut one yet. next time when i order varta 123a from http://www.reichelt.de (under werkstattbedarf) then i will order 1 cr p2 only to look if its easy to breake in 2 parts.

cutting them apart is no problem. i cut about 50 223 duracells apart last night as a matter of fact. all u need is a sharp razor knife and maybe some needle nose pliers. you cut the bottom off w/the razor then u can pull them out by the little tab that runs from one to the other. then use the pliers to pull the tab off each battery and wrap each one in a little tape. now you got yourself 2 cheap 123's. good luck
