Used to play golf. Wasn't half bad, with almost (but not quite) a single-digit handicap. Enough to hold my head high, but not bad enough to be embarrassing. (Leastwise, not that they told me.)
Used to be, I couldn't reliably handle long clubs off the tees. Drives were usually 275-300yds, occasionally longer. But nowhere near as accurate as necessary. One summer, I ditched all of the woods (#1, #3, #5) along with my two longest irons (#2 and #3), then added a higher-loft wedge. Instead, focused on simple repeatable accuracy. My swing got "clean" and was able to eliminate nearly every little "hitch" in the swing. 75-80% turn, hands & elbows at proper position, proper weight transfer ... and the shots became like "clockwork." Couldn't retain the distance with most clubs, with the new basic swing. But, got to the point where I almost never hit a "drive" where it landed underneath a tree, into a hazard, at the "wrong" part of a dogleg, etc. Made approach shots to the tee far simpler. Landing an approach shot to within ~6ft of a pin almost got easy. And scores plummeted. Having 4-5 fewer clubs, weight-wise, in the bag was a nice bonus. About the best way to avoid frustration that I'd found, in 35+ years of playing the game.
Funny, how a lesson from a pro a dozen years earlier spoke of the same essential things, while teaching me that simpler swing. Only took me a dozen years to listen and to recognize how bright that guy was. Spot-on. Duh. Oh well. Frustration-free golf. What a concept! Better late than never.

When I first started shooting DCM (Division of Civilian Marksmanship) competition matches a shooter lying next to me at the three hundred yard range, gave me a tip. He said that I should settle down and watch the sights go up and down with my heartbeat. Then squeeze off a shot between heartbeats.
I laughed, and figured he was nuts. At three hundred yards, my sights were doing figure eights around the target. I pulled the trigger as the target came into view.
Then one day, I noticed that my sights were going up and down. Son of a gun... in conjunction with the timing of my heart beat!
I guess sometimes, some people know what they are talking about eh?

Yup. It's very real. With a high-quality scope with exceptional optics and strong magnification (ie, 30x+ @ 300yds) that "bobbing" of the heartbeat becomes painfully clear for anyone. Time the shot in the same spot each time, between heartbeats, and shot groups shrink.
In the case of my golf wing, learning a powerful but repeatable "three-quarters" swing was much the same thing. Calm myself, focus, when relaxed, swing to three-quarters, then smoothly turn. Amazing, how much more accurate, and primarily how repeatable. Errant drives and longer iron shots all but disappeared, for me, once I finally listened to the wisdom of that guy. Slowly learned to add back those longer clubs, once I'd perfected that improved swing. World of difference.

Yesterday, late in the afternoon, we my grandson and I played 8 holes of golf before it got too dark to finish. I brought my Convoy C8 just in case.

I always like pictures like this with a reflection in a calm pond or lake.
And you got the lighting just right.
Years ago I took a photo with my P&S film camera of a lake one still morning with Fall leaves as the highlight. There was a house and dock in the photo as well. When I got them developed it was nearly impossible to tell the top from bottom. There was a small stick in the water to the extreme left causing a tiny ripple. That was the only way to tell top from bottom.I always like pictures like this with a reflection in a calm pond or lake.
This morning I did some volunteer work with my Elks Lodge for special kids.
While there, my daughter started some Fall Cleanup and then left it to me. I filled two 50 gallon garbage cans and then 7 of those paper lawn and leaf bags. It was a beautiful day, temps in the fifties, but the sun was strong. I worked up a mild sweat wearing a sweat shirt.
At the end, I enjoyed a beer, listening to some music.
What a great day!

I like the sound of my Bose speaker more, but this guy is just so convenient.
Combined with my iPhone play list, it makes a good combination.
You canāt beat these jobsite radios anymore. I own a Dewalt toughsystem Iāve had for several years and the sound is amazing.

One of the things that are great about them is that one usually has a number of batteries for them, and they recharge relatively quickly. Also at least with mine, they can be used as a power bank.
The battery in this bose speaker won't last all day, but it's sound is better, while it lasts.

My co worker had one of those bose speakers he uses at work. Definitely nice.
I had a 2.1 set of Bose companion speakers for my computer days back then. Sounded great

Less "kaboom kaboom" than Bose and it was half the price.
I auditioned several bluetooth speakers that size and liked the sound of the JBL the most. Using their app and a second one provides a nice stereo sound that mimics a decent stereo system. I still prefer the Bose wave radio but no bluetooth (yet)
