In fact if I knew the other CPF guys better, I would have stolen their food while they ate :naughty:

Now that's a side to your character I wouldn't have predicted!

The food, as you say, was indeed very good. My steak was tender and done medium rare absolutely perfectly. The pepper sauce was not too peppery and the whole thing was a notch or two up from the usual pub fare. In fact all the dishes we ate ( Smoked Haddock on mash with mustard and spinach, Beer battered Fish and chips, Sausages and mash with onion gravy - I completely forget what monkeynoy had I'm afraid!) were well presented, hot and delicious. As Solscud007 said earlier - the service was good too, especially as they were quite busy.

I can't believe it's already a week ago. It seems a lot longer. But an epic meet.

Next time I'm gonna bag me a Womble skin!!!

Yeah the Stanley HID was quite impressive with its throw. Smaller and lighter than the regular Costco HID too. I can't remember what the gun handle thing was called but it's a surefire with the Lumens factory P7 head attached.

The food at the pub was as good as it looks and reasonably priced. In fact if I knew the other CPF guys better, I would have stolen their food while they ate :naughty:

It is the SF M900 weaponlight. It is basically a nitrolon M3 with two additional LED nav lights and the body got turned around 90 degrees. So it uses 2xCR123 or in this particular case im using 2x17500.

Sitting at work eating my packed lunch and you have to do that to me!!!!

My sisters got the kids this weekend, I'm almost tempted to drag my wife all the way to that pub for a meal out!

OK OK.

The reality is, I am sitting at my desk eating a sandwich. I don't think my arteries can take too many meals like we ate at the Fox and Grapes!

People are often surprised by the amount of food that I eat

I had the Salmon and Haddock fish cakes - one of the smaller dishes but the quantity was sufficient. I was very pleased with it. Good presentation, good taste with just the right amount of seasoning and sauce. The side salad was a little heavy on the dressing though.

My opinions of the dining at the Fox and Grapes:
I would class it as pub food but high end, good quality pub food with presentation akin to what one would expect of an expensive restaurant. The chef obviously has some skills. It represents excellent value for money especially considering the Wimbledon location. Service was fast and friendly. Good atmosphere too. Being away from the main road, the pub attracts mostly locals, who seem friendly and respectful. We didn't get any hassle or attention for pulling out our torch collections or cameras.

Hey these look like fun. I wish I lived closer.

Anyone live up here in the Highlands near Inverness maybe?

Well, I'm actually from Fife/Edinburgh (but living in london at the moment) so might be interested if there is one in Scotland.

Hey Abarth,
Im from Glasgow so another Scot. Cant say im near Inverness but I was up at Aviemore last week (Well Granton on Spey really). I would go to a meet in Scotland for sure. A wee day in a public house sounds good.

Hello and welcome Hemdale. I was just starting to think that myself. It's about due we started planning another meet up. Suggestions anyone ?

Yeah ! Can't wait, I need to find the perfect match for my brand new Benchmade Mini Griptilian but it's damn hard to find proper flashlight stores in London to try them all.
Let's GTG and show our best flashlights ! Yay !
