These seem like the hot item right now. I looked them over and the multi modes seem really cool. So what do you all think of these? All i have to compare it to would be a sf e1b. how would the novatac beam compare to the e1b? Would the throw be as good or better? How about the spill? Would the 120 model out throw my e1b? Would it have more flood than the e1b? What about the different models? edc, tactical, and programable? school me on this light, compare it to the e1b if you can.. Oh, how would these compare to like a fenix? I saw a few of them that looked cool..

Later!! chris

from what i've seen it will have alot more spill than the E1b, and will not throw as far......Novatac is on the outs in my book as HDS has moved on to RAlights so you may want to look at the RA 120-Cn as a good replacement(has a burst of 170 lumens and should throw around the same as the E1b with more spill)(speculation for now)

The Novatac has gone beyond being the hot item of the day.
It's actually old news by now, however, it has proven itself to be one of the few "classics" that has firmly entrenched itself in the marketplace.

If you're going to have only a very few lights, the Novatac rates a place among them for it's beam (one of the best) and it's sensible UI, whatever one you get (although the "P" model is in my opinion the one to have).

Novatac is far from the newest but still occupies #1 EDC spot for me (in case your also new to the acronyms here EDC= Every day carry ). Rugged as a tank and can do about everything I ask of it.

There are several reviews which you might find useful, but perhaps if you start with this review by selfbuilt you will get a good idea of what is available in that broad category. It is a comparison of several single-cell lights, including the Novatac.
