Looking for a 21700 wall of light

I used to have a Thrunite TN35 and loved the wall of light it put out. Not having the right space to use all of that light, and the fact that is was quite large led me to sell it. Wish I wouldn't have done that.

I'm again after a floody wall of light, but this time in a more manageable size package and preferably 1x21700 based to keep the size in check. Any recommendations? I don't like onboard charging but I supposed I could live with that. Decent color rendering is a must. Most importantly, I do not want a complicated UI. A rotary would be awesome, but a low/high would be perfectly fine.

I realize one option, and likely the nicest one, is a Malkoff Wildcat 18650 with a 21700 body. Just looking to see what people can suggest as alternatives and perhaps cheaper.

Thanks.

For emitter, a Nichia 519a in your choice of color temperature…?

The warm switch back light is nice but the red/green/blue is fun

Acebeam E75 with Nichia 519a 5000K l.e.d. option. $100. 3000 lumens. High c.r.i.. Has USB-C rechargeable battery (no external charging port to make water damage more likely).

If you can go with just neutral white instead of high c.r.i., the Acebeam E70-AL is only $65 and puts out 4600 lumens.

To complicate matters, I have the non-18650 Wildcat and the Acebeam E75, and while the Acebeam is about 3X the lumens, in real world use, it looks about the same, but maybe slightly more spill along the edges.

The neutral XP-L Malkoffs look so good. In fact, I'd argue my M91BN looks about the same as my Wildcat, but at a SIGNIFICANTLY lower price. It's slightly less floody, but in real world use, it's close enough. Plus, it's a MUCH smaller format. Overall, I think the M91BN is probably the single best Malkoff drop-in.

I vote for the M91BN with the 21700 body if you really want a 21700 body. Plus, that has the versatility of working with any other P60 host.

The M91 won't work with a 1x21700. The input voltage range of the M91 is 5.5-12v.

Well, it would work, but won't be as bright as it should be.

Another vote for the Acebeam E75.
Just a very good choice, overall.

I thought it was that it just runs unregulated, i.e. that is has a slope in output.

Just swapping quickly to an 18650 MD2, inside, it seemed just as bright as with two cells.

Looks like the E75 does have a USB-C port on the side of the body.

What battery does it come with? Is it removable?

That would be redundant if it does. It has a USB-C rechargeable 5 amp 21700 battery included. It would be kind of hard to charge the battery if it was not removable. There's no need to make a light like this with a charger built into the light because it's built into the battery. This is like a larger version of the 18650 Acebeam E70 Mini.

Honestly, for my needs, I'm still good with my Nitecore E4K. Not high c.r.i. and doesn't have the simplest user interface, but it's hard to find something that compact and bright with a usb-c rechargeable 21700 battery and no external charge ports to make it easier for water to damage it.

I have an Acebeam L35 and it does produce a fair amount of light. But, I too would like a "wall of light" type light.

I have a light similar, already, to the E75, an Olight Seeker 4 Pro [in the beautiful Midnight Blue], so don't think I'd gain much from an E75. Still, I would like a brighter "wall of light", sometimes.

Imalent MS03

+

One of the best values out there, in any light

With 21700 = $34

Review::

Yup, seems to be quite the light for that low of price! Not going to be close to as bright as the Imalent MS03, but it is 1/3rd the price.

I would suggest Zebralight SC700d, they don't sell them anymore, but you can get the SC700d HI which is a bit more throwy that the D variant, but is a.very small 21700 light with 2700 lumens. The D is 3000 lumens and runs only on unprotected cells.

Did I miss something??
I was on their Official website just two days ago. Only saw a bunch of 18650 lights and a couple of AA models listed as "In Stock."

Emisar D4K with W2
What is "W2"? Pardon my ignorance.

Having said that, I have a couple of Emisar lights, D4V2, and the head heats up quickly, so I could only imagine this would be the case with the D4K as well.

Have you looked at the Wuben X2. (2) 21700s but the form factor looks like you might be able to fit it in a pocket.

Not bad, but not really as bright of "wall of light" I'd like. It could work for others, though!
