Just purchased a Zebralight H502 for it's flood capabilities, and I want to purchase another compact flashlight as a backup. I figured something with more throw would be ideal since I already have the H502 for flood. I need it to share the same characteristics as the H502, single AA (I'll be using eneloops), small, lightweight, but I need it to be fairly inexpensive. I can't spend as much on my backup as I did on my zebralight. Would like to keep it under $30.

Ha! You know whatever you find it just aint gonna be a zebralight. Save another $34 and break down and buy a SC51c. Your gonna love that tint. And the SC51c will more than meet your needs. They pair very well together.

I agree with "low". If it is possible, spend a little more & get something you'll love for a long long time. I wasted money on cheap lights for a few years with 100% regret. Now my favorite all around single AA light is the Quark AA (now called the Quark Pro QPA.) Runs excellent on an eneloop and even better on a rechargeable 14500 Li-ion. When camping & hiking I currently use a Zebralight H501w (headlight) and my Quark AA for some decent throw. Both run on a single AA, and both are excellent. I will be getting a Zebralight H502w when they become available.

They have the neutral H502c available, and with High CRI as a free bonus. I can not tell the difference between the tints, except for the better color rendering. (H51w and SC51w) Very nice.

I was tempted with the H502c, but still want to wait for the slightly brighter H502w. The H502 cool white version was tempting as well, but have read too many reviews that pointed out greenish tints (not good.) I have an H51 and an H51w with diffuser film on each to make them more floody. I still prefer my H501w (pure flood), and have been waiting over a year for the H502w. Since I've waited this long, I guess I will wait a little longer.
