I want to pump a few cubic feet of air per minute through a 1/2" hose. I need it to be quiet and run off a battery pack for a few hours at a time. Any ideas where I can find such a thing?

I don't need it to make much pressure, I'll be using it for cooling

Have you considered trying to use a cooling fan for a computer case? It's already designed to run off 12VDC so it could be easily powered from a SLA battery. In computer use they typically put out 30-80 CFM, although I don't know how much CFM they would lose once you made an adapter to neck down the 3.5" square fan down to a 1/2" hose.

Many years ago I had a portable air pump for tropical fish, I used it to take the fish to the show bet they still make em but not sure if it would have enough power ? Oh and I belive coleman make a battery powered pump for inflating air beds ? good luck !

Coleman and Ozark Trail both make several battery powered air pumps for inflating air beds and water toys. Their smallest runs on 4 D cells. Next up is a rechargeable version. And finally are the 12V DC powered pumps that could be used with an external battery pack.

Walmart or most any sporting goods store would have these.
