Hi everyone,

It was suggested that I ask here since bike lights sometimes use MR16 lightheads. I'm looking to find a bright MR16 flood (60-100 degree angle) to fit inside a sealed enclosure (heatsinking isn't a problem). It just needs to be GU5.3 with a standard ~1.79" height. I see LED arrays that claim about 100-120 lumen but would like to know if there's anything better out there. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

I'm a Noob, too.

Remember: There is a TON of stuff in this forum only a Google away! :candle:

Googled 'MR16 LED' and got these two off the top:

Review says it may not fit all MR16 housings. Since it is HD, I'd bring my housing in and try it in the store. Price isn't too bad for a plug and play by a well-known mfr. My Phillips 10 degree 3W 100 lumen from HD was only $10 cheaper. I wish this had been available that day.

No angle listed but it looks like it might be an MC-E 4 die so will likely be floody. I am going to go whole hog to a DIY from scratch, but the lure of a nice plug-in is understandable and this might be a nice one.

And this thread:

Which did not include 8 watt MR16 as they are more recent, but which I found it a very useful discussion in July. I researched going this way again only a month ago, and did not come up with this Sylvania then, though I caught mention that it was coming. Hopefully someone has tried one, or one like it. I'd like to know, too. I'll be watching, too.

Good luck!

I've started a thread because I'm finding the accuracy of the specifications quoted by my local supplier somewhat lacking - and their choices for a range of only 3.

They're decent enough lamps though - leave 20 watt halogens looking like the glorified candles they are.

Though if you're after a flood, you have a lot more choice.
