I play bass in a praise and worship band. I need/like to adjust the volume and eq. for different songs. But we often play with the house lights down, and that, coupled with the fact that the knobs have no index markings, makes it difficult to quickly find the right settings.

I have an idea that I'd like to try. I'm looking for some very small right-angle led fixtures. I want to attach them to the front of my bass, above each knob. They could light up the knobs and provide reference points for adjustment.

They don't need to be terribly bright, just enough to see the knobs in dim light. A single 3mm led for each knob will probably do. I'll probably run them off a separate battery, mainly because I don't want to tap into the active circuitry and maybe mess up my sound.

I'm thinking of something that would look like tiny clearance lights, very small (1/2" long or so) versions of the cab lights on a truck. I've searched the net quite a bit, but haven't found quite what I'm looking for. Any one have any ideas?

How about attaching a Photon Freedom (or two or three) to your bass with Blu-Tack or adhesive velcro dots? Simple one button interface, variable brightness, and available in many colors - both the light and the exterior.

Digikey.com has thousands of LED's to pick from, you can search by size, brigtness, color, etc
