looking for the best (biggest 12V searchlight) for DIY hid conversion

Hi guys, I`m new to this forum and I want to make my own hid flashlight..

I`m looking for a rather big handheld searchlight, with a reflector 8inches or bigger and a nice focused beam ( spot rather than flood). It needs to be 12V and rechargeable as I`m modding it with a 12V 55W hid car conversion kit.

I guess this is the place for getting tips regarding where to get the light for the project.

I just got my 3000+ lumen hid flashlight yesterday, and it was awesome, but I`m pretty sure it will be weak compared to a real big 55W hid DIY light!

Any thoughts?

The SunForce 25 Million Candlepower HID spotlight might be an excellent host for your 55W HID conversion. It has an excellent quality 8'' reflector, and comes stock with a 35W HID lamp. Even with its stock 35W HID it blows away some other HID lights of the same wattage in throw, and will be significantly more powerful with your 55W HID upgrade.

Thanx for the info guys, but does anyone know what bulb is in the sunforce searchlight?

I might want to tweak my ballast as well to get 70+W to the bulb, this will reduce runtime by 50% but I`m sure it will be worth it
