I had an 2AA-mag running till the light of it is rather low and what i did is that i swap the bulb with a 1AAA-mag bulb and it burn well.
a little brighter than a 1AAA at its peak.
i think i am overdrivind it a little as bothg batt rated abt 1.1~1.2V
run the thing a little and it seems fine.

nothing burned.
do u guys think it is a good idea to do this??

How abt in the case where u have a full size mag and u run the batt a little, change it to 5 cell bulb den to 4 and finally 3cell bulb??

Do i make sense??????

I do just that in my 5 D cell Mag. I start with the standard lamp then run it for over an hour until I start to notice it dim and then put int a 4 cell lamp. I have never changed to a 3 cell lamp, it seems to hold its voltage around a 4 cell voltage as it dies.

I used to do what you are talking about with the 2 AAA mini mag, but the lamps don't last very long, but if you don't remind replacing them it does work.
