Low battery level indicators

I have a tk11 and in the instructions it states that if the battery begins to run low it will "flash a series of times" and according to the manual "turn it to the low setting" and replace the battery.

Now this may be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway, what if your on low already, will it still flash the indicator?

Does anyone know what voltage trips the low battery signal?

does fenix tk11 have low battery indication

and l2d too
im very curious my dealer told me yes but fenix website did not state?

The presence of a low level battery indicator on the TK11 is currently unknown. In the monolithic thread about the tk11- someone got a response from Fenix stating there is not one on the tk11 even though it is advertised to have one and it explicitly describes the actions of the low battery indication in the tk 11 owners manual. In that same email, Fenix stated that the light on high should begin to dim when the battery reaches 3.9v.

I ran my tk11 on high till 3.84v (I got tired at that point) and I did not see any flickering nor did I see any dimming of the light.

IMO 4sevens, the American distributor and CPF forum member, should be more proactive with Fenix trying to get to the bottom of these issues with the TK11. But I have not heard a peep from him about this.

zband try runnig at turbo mode throughout see whether did it flicer best is tried a going to finish cr123a for faster effect

Hmm according to the correspondence with my Fenix Distributor, he told me yes there is a low battery indicator

I will personally test for this to confirm this when I am free :) (Busy trying to sort out my store :()

I will try get you guys the official response too :)

My L2D has never flashed.

I can tell when it needs new batteries because the high output starts to dim to the point where it's similar to med or low. Very easy to tell when it needs new batteries. Same as my L1D.

Well I'm down to 3.81v not a flicker yet nor has there been a decrease in light output. I'm just eyeballing it since I dont have the instruments to measure slight changes.

AFAIK, it should have flickered and should have dimmed. confused.

it is a brand new aw 18650 though.

I've discharged a 18650 in my TK11 with no flickering. I've also run it off 2 NiMH, no flickering, very dim- same as an LED DD on 2xNiMH (doh, no boost circuitry >.<). I've also gone for the NiMH/Li-ion in series to replicate 2 dead CR123's. No flickering.

edit: L2D won't flash, just decrease in output as the batteries die.

Ok, not sure if anything has changed or been updated, but my P2D, from the first run about a year ago has a low battery warning. When it happened to me I was using the light on low, it flickered rapidly (strobe-like) then went back to normal low mode. I didn't know about the battery waring at the time and just thought it went nuts for a second. I figured it out about 2 minutes later when the light just went OFF. It's very abrupt so if you get the flicker, immediately start going for new batteries. Or just don't let it run down that far...lesson learned.
