Okay, took me until nearly 3am to finish it, but it's now presentable.

Need to retake the beamshots because my camera was messing me around, but here it is. Still has a couple of bits to be tweaked, but tell me what you think.

You might want to include long range shots and show how it compares with other lights. Great indepth review about most aspects of the light! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree - it's not just "ugly", it's "FUGLY".
But as I said in my evaluation, flashlights are meant to be tools, not jewels. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: LOZ New review. Heliotek HTE-1 Rev 2.

Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding longer range beamshots, I'm going to see what I can do. I have two problems really, one that my camera sucks bigtime when it comes to dealing with things like that, and secondly, what should I compare it to? I really can't think of any other lights with a beam that narrow!

Going to go have another shot at getting the standard beamshots now, see if I can convince the camera that the beam is *NOT* green. Is almighty annoying when digital cameras decide to be difficult.

If nothing else has a beam that narrow, just take some light with overpowering lumen output.. something that's not focus and a very good mid range flood light..

Regarding your camera, see if there's a night mode? Is it possible to set the white balance on the camera? If so, set it to daylight.

Re: LOZ New review. Heliotek HTE-1 Rev 2.

Probably use a combination of lights for comparison (Nuwai ALX-113AA, L2), as for the camera, it's on daylight to start with. Problem really is that it's a cheap camera, and really, really doesn't like LED's. I'll have another fight with it tonight, having now obtained another set of batteries and fixed the battery cover.

It's about time someone made a camera with an LED colour balance setting!
