I want to buy the LSI RC-3800, but I have
some question about it:
1.)Is it can emit a white beam in night?
2.)Is the focus is perfect, or have any dark spots?
3.)Is it can illuminates over 1 mile?
4.)Is it can easy to carry?
I hope anyone can help me....
Thank You.

1.)Is it can emit a white beam in night?
The 3800 i believe uses a Xenon filled 100w bulb. I haven't used the 3800 but i'm guessing the color comparible to a 100w car xenon headlight. The xenon gas will allow for a whiter "hotter" color than regular halogen bulbs. I have the 55W version which is listed at 1 million candlepower, it is pretty yellow compared to my Surefire E2, but VERY VERY Bright.

2.)Is the focus is perfect, or have any dark spots?

The FOCUS isn't perfect, meaning the hotspot isn't a perfect circle. It's kinda rectangular to say the least. But there are no dark spots at all, other than a VERY VERY tight center beam, the fall-off light is pretty consistant. Kind of like a REALLY SUPER bright Maglight at it's tightest focus, but without a round beam

3.)Is it can illuminates over 1 mile?
I have no official answer for this for i have never needed to light something up a mile away. BUT i might have come damned close! I once illuminated the opposite side of a small lake which was about 500 yards away. I lit up a geyser in Yellowstone National Park while i was on top of the Balcony of the Old Faithful Inn about 800 yards from Old Faithful. I tell you, i recieved MANY MANY thanks for the aid of light that night. It was a moonless night at about 11:30pm. Memorable experience? YES!!!

4.)Is it can easy to carry?
NO. After long periods of time this thing get very annoying to carry. EVEN with a neck strap. Its very BULKY, and heavy. The 6" reflector is like carrying a 6.5" subwoofer speaker driver around. But is it worth it? I think so, especially for a Flashaholic on a camping trip with the only highpowered torch!

Kenny wait..

I personally....wait - i HIGHLY wouldn't recomend getting the LSI 3800. I would go for the one i have...the LSI 1100N. It is the same exact light, rechargeable, except it has the 55W bulb instead of the 100w bulb.

So at this wattage, it is half the output, outputing still a VERY strong 1,000,000 cp, versus the 2 million. THe reason i discourage the higher candlepower is becuase you DRASTICALLY sacrifice battery-life. My 1100N is listed to run 40-50min. (It has given me an average of 40mins realistically)

And as many of you know...time fly's when yer having fun. So it really loses juice when the going gets tough. THe 3800 is listed at only 15-20 minutes!! (SHEESH). I don't think this is enoegh time to do ANYTHING at all - except blind people, but trust me, that get boring FAST.

I did my research and found that the 1100N is the best comprimise between power and battery-life. PLEASE don't forget about battery-life, it comes in handy when yer in a pinch.
Trust me, you'll want it over candlepower anyday. (at this level anyway)

But LSI spotlights, i believe, are a GREAT investment. I've had mine for over 2 years now without a glitch. It has kept me in center spotlight with my friends and strangers, and it has gotten me out of some hairy camping trips. PLUS, at this light output capeability, i don't think you can beat it's rechargeability factor either. At 60 bucks, it is WELL worth it!

"The Perfect Storm" this movie, George Clooney was helding look like a LSI spotlight
to illuminate into sea.
I want to know which model about this?

Hey Kenny...

The quality of the beam looks like the 3800. It's nice and white. But it IS after all a movie. Real life aplication of the 3800 running for 20 minutes is unrealistic - for me anyway. Can you just imagine searching for something for only 20 minutes? I can't

The good thing about these lights though is there ability to also hook up to a 12V car battery. This means that you will have ""unlimited" run-time. If you plan to use the 3800 in this manner, then yeah...2,000,000 CP sounds great. But i always find myself having to use my spotlight more than 12 feet from my car.

here, let me repost that picture...
