Lumen output of Aleph\'s

Hi,

Just a quick one - I have done some lumen testing in an intergrating sphere on some of the Aleph range. It is under the 'General Flashlight' discussion.

I was pleased to see 65 Lumens exceeded! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

What is the lumen output of an Aleph 1, 1 x 123, & Lux III at around 700 mA (standard build)? I am debating on which config I should get.

Also, would I be able to run that particular head on a 2 x 123 power pack error free?

When you use a Wiz2 you can go from 1x123 to 2x123 or Li-Ion without problems. Although I am not sure wether 700mA isn't too high a drain on 1x123 (Wiz2 has a cut-off at 2.7V to protect the Li-Ion and you might not see too much light on 1x123). Better ask the experts --> dat2zip.

I've accidentally put a partially used 123 battery in my aleph1, 1x123, wiz1000 and to my surprise, it lit up although I'm not sure if it was in regulation or not and I didn't try to find out how long it could have run.

Ok...so i took at the numbers from this study and saw close to 55-65 lumens from the Aleph lights that were tested. Is this to say that these Alephs are outputing close to or exceeding that of a Surefire L4? I have the L4 now and have been very hesitant to buying a nother flashlight unless it can match it's total output (i don't care about throw).

What driver and current are you using to achieve at least 60 lumens? I was thinking of using those snazzy 3.6-4.2V Li-Ions that are popping up in the BST lately.
