Anyone have one of the Seiko watches with Lumibrite dial illumination?
I briefly saw a Seiko Kinetic with this type of dial illumination, and it looked pretty easy to see at night, but I don't know how long it would last throughout the night, or if it needs much light charging beforehand.
The Kinetic watch had a clear back; interesting to see the movement inside rolling around. A bit noisy as it rotated, though. And there were warnings about exposing the back to strong illumination; apparently it affects the charge on the watch, for some reason.

I never played with Alien Skin, so I can't compare it firsthand- in typical use, without precharging the Lumibrite with light, does it glow sufficiently throughout the night to rival a Traser watch?
It did seem very readable initially, but I don't know how quickly it drops off.
The hardest test for a watch is when I'm looking at it at nightime in a car; limited time to focus and read it, and glare from outside sources. I find my Luminox gives no problems in that situation, and was just curious about the Lumibrite stuff.

I find the Lumibrite illumination useable for 2-4 hours (on a watch face, anyway), AND only for the models that have the Lumibrite faces, -Not the hands and numbers.
That black face arrangement only glows as good as traser for maybe half an hour, and iusn't near as usable as the white face (Lumibrite background) models.

Re: Lumibrite
I've used the Seiko/Pulsar/Lorus Lumibrite watches for years, and find the Lumibrite to be about as powerful as Alien Skin. -Very similar.

Thanks for the info,

I'll have to take a closer look at the stuff-

edit: I looked at it after a few hours, like you said, it it pretty much petered out; though it was still readable, it was nothing like my Luminox.
Trasers- still no substitute...
