Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

No. You need a tailcap to clamp the clip onto the light. The ti3 is a single piece body.

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

Unlikely. The Thrunite has a very slightly smaller diameter or just different threading. A Lumintop head should fit a thrunite body with a little slop but not vice versa. I will try to test this.

Note, you can also buy a thrunite ti5 or ti5t to get this circuit in a decent clicky light. The stock clip is good or you can use the 4sevens clip with minor modifications.

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

Tried yo put a jetbeam jet u driver into the tool for better regulaton, no luck, the jetbeam driver s too deep (sandwitched driver).. Bummer bougth 2 jetbeams so i could do some fun stuff with the driver, but ended up putting a nichia in them, so they ended up fantastic anyway.. But the biggest bummer was i couldnt find my stash of coin cells.. Want to try a little coincell into this tiny bugger. The tool without the tube, should be room for a little coincell in there, but no room for a clip 🙂 Guess runtimes wont be great on a coincell, but it looks awsome 🙂

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

Didn't fit? Oh right! The ti tool doesn't have the usual pill. It will fit a copper tool, brass or anything that uses the normal pill.

Thanks for the info. You saved me some time and $.

Yes, it's a tiny clicky without the tube, and there should be roon for a little coincell in there. Did not test it, could not find my small coin cells. 🙂 Edit: tested the Lr44 coincell. Was a bit too long, so need a thinner coincell, but output was better than expected 🙂

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

Changed the led again. This time i got a xq-e hi led in the tool ti. Turned up quite throwy. Nice neutral tint. So far i think its the best led for the tool ti. Hotspot shrinked alot, and got mutch brighter. A really nice tiny led for the tiny reflectors in aaa lights. Wonder why it's not used more in aaa lights, it was a really nice upgrade and preformed better than i expected 🙂 only downside is low mode got quite bright for a low mode, but throwy beampatterns usually ruins the low lux that we want from our low modes 🙂

...i got a xq-e hi led in the tool ti.... Nice neutral tint. ... Wonder why it's not used more in aaa lights
depends on peoples preferences, brightness seems to be a priority for you, I prioritize tint and CRI more than brightness

I would be curious to see a side by side of your XQ-E hi LED and the stock N219b
also curious to know what CRI spec you chose

fwiw, there is a sale at CountyComm, a Copper AAA Maratac w 90+ CRI Nichia 219b is $32.50.. whats not to love about High CRI N219b? I dont understand why you would remove that LED from a Tool..

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

I prefer aaa lights. But all aaa lights is floody. They use a "large, underdriven led", under driven because the aaa cell cant deliver. Add a small reflector. And it usually end up with a floody light with murky tint. Im ok with floody lights, but i dont want ALL my aaa lights to be floody. This is where the xq-e hi will help. The nice thing about the xq-e hi is it's small. So you get a better size ratio between the lightsource and the reflector, tightnening up the beam to somethng you expect out of larger lights with larger reflectors. But dimmer because the aaa cant deliver that mutch amps. And the small punch the aaa can give, gives more surface brightness when you put that current onto a smaller area. Now i need to start searhing for 10mm smooth reflectors, that will put some more light into the hotspot. 🙂 And for cri, i think tint matters more than cri. No fun owning a hi cri light with bad tint, like my manker e14 with a hint of green 🙂

Looks a very nice CT/tint does that xq-e HI😀

Well what ever the gold ring is, does not take much to come off with brasso.................was gold, now ti

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

Was lucky in the tint lottery with the batch of xq-e hi intensity. Was thinking about buying warmer, but 4000K was as low as i could go without dropping down from the r2 bin, so bought 5 4000k leds and hoped they were on the rosy side of the 4000k and not the green tinted side. Turned out great. Both the beamshape, and the tint 🙂

Congrats, 4000k i am really becoming fond of. Just that little bit of warmth without it turning everything orange! Great for night time tired eyes🙂

Lot of love for the xpl HI 4000 and 4500k as well.

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

I usually shop for 4000k-4750k leds myself, warmer is fine too, can go up to 5000k, but only if the led appear white and not blue/green. The xq-e hi is rated at 1 amp max, so its driven closer to specs than larger leds as the xp-g2, rated at 1,5 A max. And i think that also helps stiffen up on the tints. I find that underdriven leds struggle with keeping a good tint. Take for example the xp-g3 neutral led i had brifley in the tool ti. Did not like the tint at all when it was underdriven with a aaa cell. When i put that same led into a jet-µ and gave it a lot of current with a imr 10440, the tint turned out just fine.

Re: Lumintop Tool Ti ReyLight Cheers & Jeers Thread + Poll: Would you buy a Ti clip?

I am not a fan of the xpg3 , well from the odd ones i have had anyway. I too like 4000-5000k. I really like tana's 4500k 219b......................amazing, like a perfect white yet colours look great. The 219bt 4000k i am enjoying also in these TOOLs, even the 219c 4000k which is towards the yellow. Once you spend a little time, they are also nice on the eye(subjective as with everything).

Vinhs 219c 5000k are super nice, not like other 219c's in 5000k flavour, to my eyes a very slight hint of warmth.................amazing in mules!
