Talking to Lambda tonight and came upon something silly -- Luxeons are named in such a way that abbreviated nicknames naturally pop up:

Batwing - "bat"

Lambertian - "lamb"

but what about Side Emitter? Kevin said maybe it should be after an animal the looks sideways -- so I thought Hammerhead (for hammerhead shark). Get it? Or can someone think of something better?

Boy, I must really have far too much free time on my hands...

Got it! The Sidewinding Crabflounder! (hee hee)

Actually what would be cool is if it used a play on its real name (SIDEwinder would be close, so would SEal, etc.)...

How about "easy"? Modified pronounciation of its initials ("SE", or "ess-ee"), get it?

"Hey MR Bulk, that's not an animal."

More free time? No, time for bed (it's 3:30 am here for me)...good night...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Err, they do...
At least when they are juvenile, but does the migration of an eye to either left- or right-side also changes the overal orientation of the fish?
