So where can a guy get a handful of these, in yellow?

One good source is markhannahsurplus.com The yellow (called amber) is a good choice. Not the most efficient color, so you will have to give them a little more current. The color is nice, though. Soft on these eyes, with color rendition second only to white.

the amber is very close to utility flasher yellow (tow trucks, utility workers, etc.), although it may have a touch more orange to it (i've never compared the two side-by-side). order one and check it out.

and, btw, orange and the other red based LSes are more efficient then the whites and other blue based ones. they have a smaller forward voltage drop and, therefore, use less wattage. output of the amber high-dome is twice that of the white low-dome while using less power.
