I had this one(lr5) not getting much use, A really nicely built light, small, smooth threads, 2mm poly lens,HaIII .It was from Waion. I upgraded the emitter to a Seoul P4 from phtonfanatic. SWO,and a flupic driver from TnC Products ,I used the .55 sammie,it was a bit small the .6 would be the proper part. But I made due.
Here is the light last one, with nitcore and 85 and lf3 for size comparison
Stock driver
flupic driver expoxied with artic alumina
From hre it was just a matter of screwing it back togeather.
Flupic max LR5
Novatac 85 max
[LR5 max vs nitecore max (LR5 on LEFT)
LR5 LOW (LEFT) vs nitecore low(RIGHT)
I am using mode 3 flupic ,that gives me last mode remembered,(there are 5 progams to choose from)I have set it at lowest setting and max,1000ma to the led. Strobe and beacon are there but as long as you only twist 2x you never see those modes. The low on this flupic 2.2 is not as low as my 2.1 version with a cree.Im not sure why ,most likely a change from 2.1 to 2.2 software.Id say its about as low as Nitecore DI on lowest.
The low is plenty to walk around a darkend area and have a long runtime.Max seems to be well over 100 lumens, not as bright as nitecore DI,but not to far off.
I find programming the flupic very easy. Not as many options as Novatac 85p but when the smallest bright light is needed, this fits the bill, you never even know its in your pocket!
Overall a nice fun upgrade well worth it! My goal was to have something comparable in size and utility to FireflyIII, but Brighter!
