Hi
I just finished my brinkmann Legend LX mod using 5W LS from Mr Bulk (bin W2 with bubbles inside the HD epoxy). The lux has the yellow green tint but when driven (overdriven actually)to spec, the yellow tint is not that noticeable. The light itself uses BB750 and a fraen optic. It was driven by 2 123 battery. It draws about 1.4 Amp from the 123 batteries. The board was potted below a heatsink plate and the emitter is put above the heatsink plate. The modding process is kinda difficult (for me anyway) but thanks to the help of Wayne Y (Dat2zip), my mod finally finished.
below is a beam shot comparison with a 1W LS: MM + Q3L at fresh batteries

MM on the left while LX on the right.

Thanks
Mr B, I use the 6 degrees fraen for 5W. I get it from elektrolumens. It is nice and fit perfectly. No mod needed. Just take the optic from its holder and you are good to go. but just like any other optic with 5W, you still left with a void in the middle /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif but not as big as its NX05 counterpart. In fact, it is almost as tight as 1W HD in NX05.

My (friend's) digital camera kind of sucks to shot an upclose picture. I tried before, and the result is blurry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

they are: minimag with Micropuck, MM+Q3L, Mag 2D (direct drive, using lithium battery and U3U 5W), LX 5W mod

I had to copy and paste the pic urls into the browser to see the pics.
I think you have to remove the ".orig.jpg" from the link.
